Could Face Lifts Become Obsolete?

Tuesday June 17, 2008
According to NYC doc Eric Berger, MD, of Berger Medical Aesthetics, it's all about maintenance. He believes that with a doctor-administered annual skin maintenance regimen beginning in a woman's late 20s-early 30s, a face lift would never be needed to maintain a smooth, tight, wrinkle-free face. His prescribed regimen includes a yearly non-surgical skin-tightening procedure (he prefers an infrared device called Titan), 3x yearly Botox injections, semi-monthly professional facials, and the injection of facial fillers as needed.

Of course, all this maintenance doesn't come cheap, but Dr. Berger believes it should be a part of every woman's annual budget if she wants to avoid more invasive and costly anti-aging procedures in the future. Another thing: Since the skin of the eyelids can't be treated as successfully or safely with laser skin tightening, you may still need a little nip and tuck around the eye.
