What Makes Someone a Good Candidate for Plastic Surgery?
Wednesday July 9, 2008
For every procedure, there is a list of conditions and health considerations that determine who may or may not be a good candidate. There are also some conditions that are pretty universal when it comes to making someone a bad candidate for plastic surgery. By the same token, there are some factors that are almost universally required to be considered a good candidate for plastic surgery. So...what are they?
First, you need to be in generally good physical health. Consider not only any medical conditions you may have, but also your health-habits and any lifestyle-related factors that could affect the outcome of your surgery. Second, you need to be in generally good mental and emotional health. Be sure that the problem you are attempting to "fix" is truly a physical imperfection, and not something psychological in nature, such as body dysmorphic disorder. Finally, you need to have realistic expectations about the outcome of your surgery and the effects it will have on your appearance and your life.
