The Enquirer Plastic Surgery Issue (Why, Daryl, Why?)

For research purposes only, I just had to pick up a copy of The National Enquirer this week. It was all about celebrity plastic surgery, and I couldn't wait to dive inside.

The usual suspects were there, of course: Tara Reid, Kathy Griffin, Joan Van Ark, and other famously nipped-and-tucked stars. But the big shockers were Kellie Pickler and Daryl Hannah. Both of them were completely unrecognizable.

Daryl looked like she had gone way overboard on the full-face dermal filler injections, and Kellie appeared to have had some sort of eye job, brow lift, and possibly even a face lift (though that seems crazy at her age). Both are such beautiful ladies, but their "after" pics were so odd-looking, dare I say grotesque, that I am still wondering if the photos were real or doctored. I must admit, they both appear to have some work done. (Ryan Seacrest even joked with Kellie about her apparently enhanced breasts when she appeared on American Idol after her season was over.) However, since picking up my copy of the Enquirer, I have looked high and low and have been unable to find any other photos showing these ladies looking quite so, well, strange.

So I'm wondering, how many of my readers have seen these photos, and does anyone else think that The Enquirer doctors these types of photos? And if so, should such trickery be considered the same as libel in the traditional sense? Or perhaps you have seen these ladies in person or on TV recently and believe that the pics of Daryl and Kellie are authentic? Either way, I want to hear from you.
