Cleft palate is one of the most common congenital deformities. The fact that it is common doesn’t make it any easier on parents who discover that their child has a cleft palate. They worry about their child’s quality of life. They want to know how quickly the cleft can be repaired and what can be expected afterwards.

The goals of cleft palate repair are to produce normal speech, normal hearing, and normal feeding.
