How Is Liposuction Done?

The areas to be treated with liposuction are outlined with a marker by your plastic surgeon. It is important that you agree with the areas your surgeon has outlined. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about the extent of the areas to be treated with liposuction. Some surgeons will take pictures of the markings and allow you to review them before starting your procedure. This is an especially useful tool for areas that are difficult to see without a mirror, such as your back, your flanks (love handles or “muffin top”), and the back of your thighs.
