Question: What is the Recovery After an Otoplasty?
Answer:
  • Ear Care:
  • The bandage over the ears is worn for four or five days.
  • After the dressing is removed, a supportive headband is worn over the ears to take tension off of the ears.

  • The headband will be worn over the ears at night for four to eight weeks. The exact length of time will be determined by the surgeon.

  • Activity:
  • Return to school or work in less than a week.

  • Full activity and exercise can be restarted within two weeks.

  • Contact sports should be avoided for at least three months.
