Definition: a treatment involving multiple microinjections of two substances called phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate

Lipodissolve's intended purpose is to induce fat reduction in localized areas of the face and body without surgery. This differs from a similar treatment called mesotherapy mostly in the specific ingredients used; whereas the injected mixture often varies in mesotherapy, using a wide range of substances (including vitamins, herbs and other medications), the lipodissolve mixture is proprietary and standardized. Both mesotherapy and lipodissolve are the subject of much debate and skepticism within the medical community, due to a lack of objective clincal data supporting their safety and effectiveness.
